Icelandic citizenship

A foreign citizen can be granted with Icelandic citizenship with a decision by the Directorate of Immigration or an act of the Icelandic parliament, Alþingi. There a certain conditions that need to be fulfilled which enables a foreign citizen who has been domiciled in Iceland for a certain period of time and fulfills the requirements of the Icelandic Nationality Act to submit an application for Icelandic citizenship.
